Heathrow does not allow any vehicle to wait outside arrivals. The lanes at the terminal are for setting down only. So your pickup works a little differently, and here is exactly how.
Pre-booked drivers wait at Heathrow’s Authorised Vehicle Area on Northern Perimeter Road. It is open 24 hours a day. Your driver is called forward once your flight lands, so nobody is circling the airport waiting for you.
Collect your bags, then follow the signs from arrivals to the car park pick-up area. The walk is short and mostly covered. Your driver tells you the exact level and bay before you set off.
| Terminal | Where your driver waits |
|---|---|
| Terminal 2 | Terminal Parking, facing the Queen’s Terminal arrivals hall |
| Terminal 3 | Terminal Parking, Level 1, opposite T3 arrivals |
| Terminal 5 | Terminal Parking, opposite T5 arrivals |
| Terminal 4 | Park and Ride Zone A, free shuttle to the terminal |
Heathrow closed the Terminal 4 multi-storey car park on 23 June 2026 for redevelopment. Terminal 4 parking moved to Zone A of the Park and Ride car park, which runs a free shuttle bus. If you land at Terminal 4, your driver meets you there instead. See our taxi to Heathrow Terminal 4 guide.
We email your driver’s name, car and number plate before you fly. Your driver also calls or messages you once you are on the ground. You can reach them at any time.
Heathrow has free wifi in every terminal, called _Heathrow Wi-Fi. Connect, then message your driver on WhatsApp at no cost.
We track your flight from the moment it takes off. Land late and your driver still waits. You get 45 minutes of free waiting from touchdown, which covers normal queues at passport control and baggage reclaim.
Add meet and greet for £20 and your driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name board. It suits first-time visitors, families and anyone travelling with heavy cases. Read how Heathrow meet and greet works.
Anyone who drives you to a Heathrow terminal pays a drop-off charge. Book with us and it is already inside your fare. Here is how the charge works if you drive yourself.
Heathrow charges £7 every time a vehicle enters the drop-off area outside Departures. The fee rose from £6 on 1 January 2026, and a 10-minute limit came in on the same day. It applies at Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5.
| Detail | 2026 |
|---|---|
| Cost | £7 per entry |
| Time limit | 10 minutes |
| Terminals | T2, T3, T4, T5 |
| Payment deadline | Midnight the following day |
| Penalty if unpaid | £80, or £40 within 14 days |
There are no barriers and no payment machines. Cameras read your number plate as you drive in. You pay afterwards, online or by phone, and the charge is per entry. Leave and drive back in, and you pay twice.
Blue Badge holders can register with Heathrow in advance for a full discount. Motorbikes are exempt. Electric cars are not.
Heathrow’s Park and Ride car parks give you 29 minutes free, with a shuttle bus to the terminal. It takes longer, but it costs nothing.
We pay every drop-off and car park charge on your journey. The fare you were quoted is the fare you pay. There is nothing to settle at the terminal and no penalty notice weeks later.
Heathrow has four passenger terminals, and they are not next door to each other. Arriving at the wrong one can cost you 20 minutes on a shuttle. Tell us your airline when you book and we drop you at the right door.
| Terminal | Main airlines |
|---|---|
| Terminal 2 | Star Alliance carriers |
| Terminal 3 | Virgin Atlantic, Emirates, most Oneworld |
| Terminal 4 | SkyTeam, including Air France and KLM |
| Terminal 5 | British Airways and Iberia |
These two sit together in the central area, linked on foot. Terminal 2 is the Queen’s Terminal and the home of Star Alliance carriers. Terminal 3 handles Virgin Atlantic, Emirates and most Oneworld flights. Drivers reach both from the M4 spur at Junction 4. See our taxi to Heathrow Terminal 2 and taxi to Heathrow Terminal 3 guides.
Terminal 4 sits south of the central terminals, on its own loop off the southern perimeter road. SkyTeam carriers fly from here, including Air France and KLM. Drivers approach from the M25 at Junction 14 or the A30. More in our Heathrow Terminal 4 taxi guide.
Terminal 5 is Heathrow’s western terminal and the home of British Airways and Iberia. It has its own spur straight off the M25 at Junction 14. That often makes it the quickest terminal to reach from the west. See our Heathrow Terminal 5 taxi guide.
Airlines move between terminals, and codeshare flights are the usual culprit. Your boarding pass carries the terminal you actually need. If it changes after you book, tell us and we adjust the drop-off at no cost.
Heathrow sits west of London, close to the M4 and the M25. That puts most of the capital and the Home Counties within an hour in normal traffic. These are the runs we do most.
This is our most-booked route. The road in runs east along the M4 and the A4 through Chiswick and Hammersmith. Kensington starts at £60 and central London postcodes start at £95. The fare holds whether the road is clear or slow.
Your driver waits at the hotel entrance or a point you agree in advance. Tell the concierge you have a car booked and give them the driver’s name. We cover every London postcode, so the quote works from any address.
Canary Wharf runs from £122 and takes longer than the mileage suggests, because the route crosses the whole city. Book an early pickup for a morning meeting. See our Heathrow to London taxi page for times and fares by area.
Missed connections and split bookings are common. Gatwick is £92, Luton is £90 and Stansted is £131. Read our Heathrow to Gatwick taxi guide for the M25 route and timings.
The M4 runs straight out to Slough, Maidenhead and Reading, and Reading starts at £68. See our Reading to Heathrow taxi page.
We also drive Heathrow to Oxford, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff and Manchester. Fares are fixed on these too.
Pick the car that fits your group and your cases. We size the vehicle to your booking, so you are not paying for an eight-seater when a saloon will do.

Heathrow long-haul means big cases. Two adults with two large suitcases each will be tight in a saloon boot. Tell us your bag count at booking. We move you up a size at the quoted price, not at the kerb.
Heading to Heathrow for an early flight after a late meeting? Business Class gives you a quiet cabin for calls and email on the move. Book it the same way as any other fare, with the price fixed before you travel.
Baby, toddler and booster seats cost nothing and are fitted before your driver arrives. Add them when you book. See our Heathrow taxi with child seats page.
Licensed private hire operator across seven UK authorities. Every driver is licensed and DBS-checked. Every vehicle is licensed and insured for private hire.
We are not a rank service and we do not take street hails. Your journey is booked, priced and allocated to a named driver before you travel. That is what lets us fix the fare and track your flight.
We hold a 4.9 out of 5 rating from 69 reviews on Tripadvisor. The comments that come up most often are drivers waiting through delayed flights and prices that did not move.
Plans change. Cancel more than 3 hours before your pickup and you pay nothing. There is no admin fee and no card charge.
Heathrow’s first departures leave before dawn and long-haul arrivals land through the night. We run around the clock, so a 4am pickup is an ordinary booking rather than a special request.
Book online in under a minute, or call 0161 660 9647 if you would rather speak to someone. Group bookings and account work are easier by phone.
Fares start at £38 to Hayes and £47 to Windsor. Kensington is £60 and central London postcodes are £95. Every fare is fixed before you travel.
In the terminal car park, not outside arrivals. Heathrow bans waiting on the forecourt. Your driver waits at the airport’s Authorised Vehicle Area, then meets you in the car park.
No. The lanes outside the terminal are for setting down only, at every terminal. All pickups happen from a car park or the Park and Ride.
Ten minutes. The limit came in on 1 January 2026, alongside a rise in the charge from £6 to £7 per entry.
