The fixed fare is £92 in a saloon, the same Heathrow to Gatwick and Gatwick to Heathrow. The fare you see at booking is the fare you pay. No meter, no surge, no surprises at the kerb.
| Sample route | Fixed fare from |
|---|---|
| Heathrow to Gatwick | £92 |
| Gatwick to Heathrow | £92 |
The £92 fare includes both airport drop-off charges, flight tracking, and 45 minutes free wait time. Larger groups, business class, or extra luggage? Vehicle upgrades are quoted live in the booking tool. For other routes to and from Heathrow, see our full Heathrow taxi fare guide.
The same £92 fare applies in reverse. Whether you're connecting onward from Heathrow after a Gatwick landing, or just need a fast inter-airport hop, the booking, fare and cover are identical to the outbound trip.
The drive from Heathrow to Gatwick is about 45 miles via the M25. Typical journey time is 60 to 75 minutes. Off-peak runs can be as quick as 45 to 50 minutes; weekday rush hour can add 15 to 30 minutes.
The standard route is M25 J14 (Heathrow) to M25 anticlockwise to J7 to M23 south to Gatwick. Both directions use the same corridor in reverse. Your driver checks live traffic and adjusts if there's a major closure on the M25.
| Peak window | Typical impact |
|---|---|
| 06:30 to 09:30 | +15 to 30 minutes |
| 16:30 to 19:00 | +15 to 30 minutes |
If you have a connecting flight, allow at least 3 hours between your Heathrow landing and Gatwick departure. More on minimum connection times in the next section.
Your £92 is locked at booking. If the M25 is crawling, you're not hit with a waiting-time charge during the drive. The driver builds the buffer into your pickup time.
For inbound runs (Gatwick to Heathrow), your driver waits in the Short-Stay Car Park linked to your terminal. Walk over after collecting your bags. For outbound (Heathrow to Gatwick), the driver picks you up at the terminal forecourt for T2, T3, T4 or T5.
We send a pre-arrival SMS with your driver's name, vehicle plate, and short-stay bay number.
Gatwick has two terminals: North and South. Both are served at the same £92 fare. Tell us your airline at booking and we route you to the correct one.
| Terminal | Common airlines |
|---|---|
| North | easyJet, Norwegian, Emirates |
| South | British Airways, Jet2, Wizz Air, Vueling |
Note: easyJet consolidated all Gatwick operations to North Terminal from March 2026 (previously used both). Always check your boarding pass on the day.
For the busiest Heathrow terminals, see our Heathrow Terminal 5 taxi guide (BA and Iberia hub) and Heathrow Terminal 2 transfers (Queen's Terminal, Star Alliance carriers).
Connecting between Heathrow and Gatwick is not like a single-airport transit. The two airports are 45 miles apart and run by different operators. Airlines don't through-check bags between them, so you collect your luggage at the first airport, transfer to the second, and check in again from scratch.
| Connection type | Minimum time between flights |
|---|---|
| Short-haul to short-haul | 4 hours |
| Long-haul or international onward | 5 hours |
This includes immigration and baggage reclaim, the 60 to 75 minute drive, and check-in plus security at the second airport.
Missing the second flight is the worst-case scenario for a connecting passenger. Coaches and trains add platform changes, fixed timetables, and luggage handling at every stop. A pre-booked taxi is door-to-door in 60 to 75 minutes, no platform changes, no luggage drops, and your driver handles the M25. We compare all three options further down the page.
Pick the vehicle that fits your group and luggage. We size the car to your booking, so a solo traveller isn't paying for a minibus and a family of six isn't squeezed into a saloon.
A common booking pattern: long-haul into Heathrow or Gatwick, then on by road to a cruise port the same day. We run direct transfers to Southampton (P&O, Cunard, Royal Caribbean), Portsmouth, Dover and Tilbury. The 8-seater MPV is the recommended choice. The boot fits the luggage volume a week-plus cruise needs.

If you're returning days later, book each leg separately. The fare is £92 each way. This pattern fits cruise pre and post-stays, weekend business trips, and family visits.
For a same-day round-trip where the driver waits at one end, tell us the waiting time at booking. Common scenarios: a Gatwick meeting between Heathrow flights, or a Heathrow connecting transfer with a Gatwick return the same evening. We quote a fixed combined fare upfront.
You get 45 minutes free wait from the moment your flight lands on any arrival booking. We track the flight, so a late landing doesn't start the clock until wheels touch down. Beyond 45 minutes, additional wait is charged at £20 per hour, pro rata.
The £92 you see at booking is the £92 you pay. No surprise charges at either airport kerb, no waiting-time bill for normal queues, no surcharges for early or late pickups.
The £17 in airport drop-off charges that competitors add on top are inside our £92. Some operators quote a lower base fare before fees, then add the airport charges to the final invoice. The £92 covers everything, with nothing added later.
Three honest options for getting between the two airports. The right one depends on your group size, your luggage, and your tolerance for changes.
| Option | Time and price (per person) |
|---|---|
| National Express coach | 75 to 90 min, £25 to £35 |
| Train via Central London (two changes) | 2 to 2.5 hrs, £45 to £55 |
| Pre-booked taxi (saloon, four passengers) | 60 to 75 min, £92 total |
The train route looks reasonable until you do it with bags. Heathrow Express to Paddington, then the Tube to Victoria (which means stairs, escalators and changes), then Gatwick Express to your terminal. That's two changes with checked-in luggage, often during rush hour.
The coach is direct, but luggage goes underneath, and there's only so much room for cases when the coach is busy.
The taxi is door-to-door. Your bags go in the boot once. No lifting, no platforms, no waiting for the next connection.
Solo backpacker with light bags? The coach wins on cost. Travelling with a family, checked luggage, or a tight connection? The taxi wins on total cost and time. Once a saloon splits four ways at about £23 per head, the price gap closes too.
£92 fixed in a saloon, the same Heathrow to Gatwick and Gatwick to Heathrow. Both airport drop-off charges (£7 Heathrow + £10 Gatwick) are inside the fare. No meter, no surge. Vehicle upgrades are quoted at booking.
60 to 75 minutes typical, 45 to 50 minutes off-peak. The route is about 45 miles via the M25 (J14) to M23 J7. Weekday rush hour adds 15 to 30 minutes. Your fare doesn't change if traffic slows.
For a solo traveller with light bags, the National Express coach at £25 to £35 is cheapest. For a family or group of four, the £92 taxi works out at about £23 per person, less than the train and faster than the coach.
Minimum 4 hours short-haul to short-haul, 5 hours for long-haul or international onward. This covers baggage reclaim, the 60-75 minute drive, and check-in plus security. Airlines don't through-check bags between LHR and LGW.
Yes, both terminals at the same £92 fare. Tell us your airline at booking. easyJet now flies exclusively from North Terminal (since March 2026); British Airways uses South. Always check your boarding pass on the day.
Yes. Both the £10 Gatwick forecourt drop-off charge and the £7 Heathrow drop-off charge are inside your £92. No extras at the kerb, no surprise additions to the invoice.
Nothing extra to pay. We track your flight from take-off and adjust the pickup. You get 45 minutes free wait from wheels-down, covering normal passport and baggage queues. Beyond 45 minutes, wait is £20 per hour, pro rata.
Yes, same £92 fixed fare in reverse. Each leg is a separate booking with its own driver and confirmation. This fits a cruise pre and post-stay or a multi-leg business trip. Same airport charge inclusions, same flight tracking, same 45-minute free wait.
