Prices come from London Stansted's pick-up and drop-off page. Walk times come from Stansted's Short Stay page. Both were checked on 20 October 2026.

How to pick up at Stansted Airport depends on two things. How long will you wait, and will you go inside? Your London Stansted pick up point follows from those answers.

Why Green and Blue, Not Orange?

Stansted's pick-up page is clear. You can pick up or drop off in the Green and Blue Short Stay car parks only.

So why do some guides still send you to Orange? Stansted's driving page still says pick-ups use Short Stay car parks (Orange zone) (checked 20 October 2026).

The Short Stay page settles it. Orange, Red and Yellow are now premium car parks, each marked PRE BOOK ONLY. Green and Blue are the two marked TURN UP & PARK.

Orange row G is Uber's own pick-up spot. That's why Orange still appears in rideshare guides.

So for a Stansted short stay pick up, head for Green or Blue. London Stansted Airport pick up rules now point every turn-up driver there. Any Stansted Airport short stay pick up without a booking belongs in those two.

No. Searching for an express pick up? Stansted has none, unlike Gatwick. Stansted Express pick up searches usually mean the Express Set Down outside the terminal.

That lane is listed as Drop off only on the pick-up page. Stansted's driving page calls it the lane for dropping-off friends or loved ones.

There's one exception. Stansted's terms call the area the designated drop-off / pick-up zone. A passenger with a Blue Badge can be collected there, at the normal charge. Source: Stansted's Express Set Down terms (checked 20 October 2026).
